K.EY 2023: SolarEdge Will Present Important Innovations for Residential, Commercial and Utility

  • Innovative SolarEdge solar tracker technology for ground-mounted and agricultural systems

  • New generation of S-S Series power optimisers for commercial installations with innovative safety features

  • The latest developments in the SolarEdge Home integrated residential solution

March 13, 2023 - SolarEdge Technologies will introduce visitors to new PV solutions for the residential, commercial and utility markets at the K.EY event (22-24 March) at the Rimini Expo Centre in Italy. These include new solar trackers, the new S-S-Series commercial power optimiser and the latest developments in the SolarEdge Home ecosystem for homeowners.

For ground-based systems, and with a focus on agri-voltaics, SolarEdge will present its new smart solar tracker solution. The innovative technology uses artificial intelligence to track the sun and adjust the angle of solar modules to maximise energy production, increasing system performance by up to 6% and balancing the use of the sun to optimise crop yields. This is SolarEdge's first solar tracker solution, premiered at K.EY.

The company will also present its new S-S-Series commercial power optimiser, recently launched in Italy. Featuring industry-leading safety technology, the S-S-Series detects temperature rise at the connector level, interrupting current flow before a potential arc occurs. In this way, potential arcs can be detected and prevented, rather than just detected at string level. This technology therefore maximises the safety and operability of the system while reducing O&M costs.

For the residential market, SolarEdge will also present the latest hardware and software developments of its SolarEdge Home ecosystem. The integrated residential solution manages, monitors and optimises the production, consumption and storage of solar energy within the home. This enables homeowners to manage energy more efficiently within their homes by optimising the production and use of solar energy. By monitoring and synchronising the energy requirements of all connected devices and appliances, SolarEdge Home maximises solar energy consumption using sophisticated algorithms and based on the homeowner's consumption preferences and convenience.

New additions to the SolarEdge Home solution are:

  • SolarEdge Home Inverter Hub - the new generation of SolarEdge inverters, available for both single-phase and three-phase systems and prepared for backup management
  • SolarEdge Home backup interface for flexible backup power supply in case of grid outage
  • SolarEdge Home batteries - DC-coupled and available in 48V and 400V versions
  • SolarEdge Home smart energy devices - a growing and revamped range of smart energy devices for smart utilisation of excess solar generation, including electric vehicle charger
  • SolarEdge Home Network - A proprietary wireless mesh network that optimises the connection between all SolarEdge Home devices and the inverter
