SolarEdge Home Battery with Backup Power Now Available in Thailand
July 10, 2023 – SolarEdge Technologies, a global leader in smart energy technology, announced today the launch of SolarEdge Home in Thailand. Comprised of the SolarEdge Home Hub Inverter, SolarEdge Power Optimizers, SolarEdge Home Battery, SolarEdge Home Backup Interface, and smart operating system, the end-to-end solution helps increase homeowner energy sufficiency and savings by synchronizing PV production, battery status, and backup reserve.
Designed to harvest more energy from the sun with DC-coupled technology, the solution stores more energy in the battery to power the home and provide critical backup during outages. Managed from a single mySolarEdge app, homeowners can smartly track and control their home solar usage, energy savings, and carbon emission reduction.
“SolarEdge remains committed to leading the development of innovative but safer solar solutions that meet the evolving needs of system owners, government regulations, insurance requirements, and long-term sustainability goals,” stated Daniel Huber, Chief Revenue Officer at SolarEdge. “We are proud to introduce one of the most advanced solar and storage energy management solution available on the Thai market today”.
SolarEdge Home helps ensure safety with advanced built-in features including safeDCTM and arc fault detection & termination functionality; the SolarEdge Home battery also meets the strictest US battery safety standard UL9540A. With over 1 million installations of Rapid-Shutdown systems installed globally and hundreds of RSD systems already installed in Thailand, the field-proven inverter-embedded functionality meets the EIT mandatory regulation.
Available for single-phase applications, the highly efficient DC-coupled SolarEdge Home Battery provides 9.7kWh of battery capacity and can be connected with up to three batteries per inverter, delivering up to 29.1kWh of backup capacity, while offering the ability to synchronize with additional SolarEdge inverters and future smart home devices. Its highly efficient DC-coupled design requires just one power conversion to store energy, compared to three required with legacy AC-coupled technology. By operating loads directly from the sun, and by using access energy, more solar power will be able to be utilized.
The SolarEdge Home Hub inverter has 5kW PV power and 10kWh backup power, with up to 200% DC oversizing when combined with a battery and depending on the inverter model, to deliver higher energy yield for the home.
“SolarEdge has been operating here in Thailand for more than 8 years. We lay the foundation of expertise after service according to our growth. For SolarEdge Home, it gives benefit to both homeowner of the future-ready solution and also to installer for such an easy installation and single vendor. SolarEdge Home is the smartest solution that worth for all.” Peachuda Sintapanin, Sales Manager, SolarEdge Thailand.
