Floating solar project demands safety: Global Frozen Vegetables Supplier, ARDO, Transforms Wastewater Reservoir for Energy Production
ARDO NV, a Belgium-based global frozen vegetables supplier, has commissioned a 4,860-module floating solar installation at its facility in Ardooie. Leveraging the safety profile and monitoring capabilities of SolarEdge Power Optimizers and inverters, the 2MW installation generates electricity from solar panels installed on top of a wastewater reservoir, using water from vegetable washing for local irrigation. As the facility's roofs were unsuitable for a rooftop solar system, ARDO identified the reservoir as an installation site and formed a joint venture company with the environmental technology company Trevi NV to realize the project.
